Golf Course Overview
Bishopshire Golf Club was founded in April 1903 after a meeting held in Kinnesswood Library the previous October, and remains an unusual 10-hole hill course set on the slopes above the village of Kinnesswood, around three miles east of Kinross. The compact heathland layout has generous fairways and raised greens that demand careful pitching, and although it measures less than 5,000 yards over a full round it can play very differently when the wind picks up off Loch Leven. Locals affectionately refer to it as 'Coronary Hill' on account of the climbs out to the higher ground.
The course offers spectacular views over Loch Leven and across to the Lomond Hills of Fife, and is widely regarded as a quiet, family-friendly setting for a relaxed round. Facilities include a clubhouse with locker rooms and modest catering, and visitors are welcome by arrangement at very modest green-fee rates. The course sits just off the A911 around three miles east of junction 7 of the M90, making it readily accessible from Edinburgh, Perth and the Fife coast.
