Golf Course Overview
Binny Golf Club was formed in 2002 and plays over Oatridge Golf Course, which was opened in 2000 by former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher. The course occupies land formerly part of the 18th-century Binny House estate, set among gently rolling parkland by the village of Ecclesmachan. Oatridge is a nine-hole, par-35 layout extending to around 2,793 yards over 54 acres, but two distinct sets of medal tees for each loop give the feel of an 18-hole round. The course was originally established by Oatridge College to give green-keeping students practical experience, and is widely regarded as one of the best nine-hole layouts in Scotland thanks to its fast greens and varied holes.
In 2020 Binny Golf Club took on the full operation of the course after education was moved elsewhere, and a new ten-year lease with SRUC was agreed in 2024 to secure golf on the site until at least 2035. The club is fully affiliated to Scottish Golf, the Lothians Golf Association and the Linlithgowshire Golf Association, and has a particularly strong seniors section. Facilities include a clubhouse with locker rooms and restaurant, a practice area with putting green, and buggy and trolley hire. Visitors are welcome every day, and the course sits just a short drive from Broxburn, with easy access to the M8 and Edinburgh.
