Golf Course Overview
Billingham Golf Club's Imperial Course, laid out by noted architect Frank Pennink, opened in 1969 on the edge of the industrial town of Billingham. The mature parkland layout runs to around 6,346 yards off the white tees to a par of 71, with the yellows playing as a par 73 of 6,144 yards and the ladies' tees a par 74 of 5,584 yards. A sustained programme of tree planting has given the course tightly tree-lined fairways, and meandering water hazards and undulating ground add to the challenge; the club also operates an alternative Millennium Course layout during winter to keep all 18 holes in play.
The club is affiliated to both the Teesside and Durham County Unions and provides a clubhouse, pro shop and practice facilities, with visitors and societies welcomed by arrangement. Billingham hosts regular open events and has been used for regional and county competitions. The course sits just off the A19 on the northern edge of Billingham, a couple of miles from Wynyard Golf Club and within easy reach of Stockton and Middlesbrough.
