Golf Course Overview
Biggar Golf Club traces its origins to the late nineteenth century, with the present course at Biggar Public Park established after a community fundraising bazaar in 1907 secured the funds for a public park and golf course. The original nine holes were opened by Old Tom Morris and the layout was extended to 18 holes in 1922; the design is also associated with Willie Park Jr. The flat parkland course measures around 5,569 yards to a par of 68 and is laid out within Biggar Public Park, with the short par-3 ninth — water to the left and out-of-bounds to the right — its signature hole. The professional course record of 63 is held by Open Champion Paul Lawrie.
The club has a clubhouse bar and a starter's office, and visitors are welcome every day with green fees among the most affordable in the region. The course is located on Broughton Road, off the A702, and is easily reached from Edinburgh and the M74.
