Golf Course Overview
The Belfry is one of the most famous golf destinations in the world, home to three courses of which the Brabazon is the flagship championship layout. Designed by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas and opened in 1977, the Brabazon measures 7,255 yards to a par of 72, carved from what was originally unremarkable farmland into a tournament venue with tight fairways, strategic water, 70-plus bunkers and undulating greens. The drivable par-four 10th and the dramatic par-four 18th with its triple-tiered green across the lake are two of the best-known holes in European golf. The resort also features the PGA National (par 72) and the friendlier parkland Derby course.
The Belfry has hosted the Ryder Cup four times — in 1985, 1989, 1993 and 2002 — more than any other venue in the world, along with numerous British Masters and European Tour events. The resort houses the headquarters of the Professional Golfers' Association and offers a four-star hotel, spa, leisure club, multiple restaurants, custom-fitting suites and an academy. Situated just off the M6 Toll and M42 near Sutton Coldfield, it is around eight miles from central Birmingham and close to Birmingham International Airport.

Belfry
"Truth be told, waterfalls and fountains don't do a lot for me on a golf course."
And there's a lot of other things at The Belfry that aren't to my personal taste, but considering the 18 holes on the Brabazon objectively, individually and collectively there's no disputing this is a good golf course.
