Golf Course Overview
Beith Golf Club was founded in 1896 as a nine-hole course on Threepwood Road outside the town, and was extended to an 18-hole, par-69 layout in its centenary year of 1996. After a financial restructuring in 2017 the members reverted the course to nine holes in 2018, but two tees on every hole provide variety when playing 18. The course is a hilly parkland with a moorland feel, small undulating greens and plenty of bunkering, rising to a famously elevated sixth tee from which seven counties can be seen on a clear day, with views stretching from Ailsa Craig and Arran to Ben Lomond.
The clubhouse offers a friendly bar stocked with alcoholic and soft drinks, a pool table and wide views over the course and the hills beyond Beith. A small in-house pro shop stocks the essentials and the Golfer's Grill serves light breakfasts and snacks. Visitors are welcomed and the club has a strong community feel, with deer and buzzards regular visitors to the fairways. Beith is about 25 minutes from Glasgow and within easy reach of the Ayrshire coast.
