Golf Course Overview
Bedlingtonshire Golf Club was founded in 1972 on land reclaimed from an opencast site and was designed by the Dutch course architect Frank Pennink, whose portfolio includes the Old Course at Vilamoura and improvements at Royal St George's. The 18-hole layout extends to approximately 6,714 yards with a par of 73, set in rolling parkland half a mile south of Bedlington town centre. The testing closing stretch — holes 13 to 15, known by members as "the park" — sits on the oldest ground on the estate, and the course finishes with a demanding 449-yard par-four 16th, a 194-yard par-three 17th, and a reachable 521-yard par-five 18th played back towards the clubhouse.
The club has a modern clubhouse with a function room overlooking the course, available for weddings and private events, along with a pro shop and PGA professional on site. Bedlingtonshire hosts regular open competitions and society days and sits conveniently for the Northumberland coast, with easy access from the A189 and a short drive from Morpeth and Druridge Bay.
