Golf Course Overview

Beaverbrook Golf Club is an exclusive private course laid out within the 470-acre Cherkley Court estate near Leatherhead, the former residence of Canadian-born press baron Lord Beaverbrook. Designed by David McLay-Kidd in consultation with eight-time major champion Tom Watson and opened in 2016, the eighteen-hole course extends to 7,103 yards from the back Watson tees, around 5,920 yards from the Churchill tees and just over 5,000 yards from the forward Kipling tees, all to a par of 72. Routed across pleasantly undulating downland on the edge of the North Downs, the course features fine bent-grass USGA greens regarded among the best putting surfaces in the country, with sweeping views over the wooded Surrey countryside.

The club is strictly for members and their invited guests, with no outside visitor play, even for those staying at the on-site luxury hotel. Beyond golf, the Beaverbrook estate offers a five-star country house hotel with three contrasting restaurants, the Coach House Health Club & Spa, a cookery school and a dedicated golf clubhouse opened in 2018, complete with an underground maintenance facility to keep the parkland setting uninterrupted. The course lies just off the A24 around 1.5 miles south-east of Leatherhead and roughly 20 miles south of central London, with easy access from junction 9 of the M25.
