Golf Course Overview
Bearwood Golf Club in Wokingham, Berkshire, was a 9-hole pay-and-play parkland course that opened on 1 September 1975 within the Bearwood Estate, owned by the Royal Merchant Navy School Foundation, and for nearly four decades served as a popular and accessible course for casual players in the Thames Valley. It closed on 31 March 2014 when the foundation sold the land to Reading Football Club, who needed a permanent home for their training operation. The site was redeveloped as Reading FC's Bearwood Park training ground and football academy, which opened in 2019.
