Golf Course Overview
Basildon Golf Course sits on Clay Hill Lane at Kingswood, just off the A176 south of the town centre. The 18-hole parkland layout opened in 1967 and plays to a par of 72 at 6,236 yards, with undulating fairways, doglegs, well-placed ditches and a series of strong bunkers that challenge players of all levels. Two long par threes and a couple of tricky par fours add variety, and the course finishes with a descent back to the clubhouse that takes in wide views of Basildon and the surrounding countryside.
The resident Basildon Golf Club is a friendly, inclusive members' club affiliated to the Essex Golf Union and England Golf, with active men's, ladies' and junior sections and a mixture of weekend and midweek competitions. The light and modern clubhouse includes a Costa coffee servery, licensed bar, snacks menu, function area and views across the course's lake and fountain. A new network of all-weather paths circles the course, opening up buggy access year-round. Societies and wakes are catered for in a screened private area.
