 Golf Course Overview

Bangor St. Deiniol Golf Club, commonly known simply as St. Deiniol, was founded in 1906 originally as a 9-hole course and was extended to 18 holes by James Braid a few years later. The course is considered one of the premier inland courses in North Wales and is a member of the North Wales James Braid Trail. Perched on high ground overlooking the city of Bangor, the 18-hole course plays to a par of 68 over approximately 5,652 yards, with unprecedented panoramic views extending to Anglesey, the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) and out along the North Wales coast. The course is known for its tight, sometimes blind tee and approach shots, a mix of parkland holes early on giving way to more typically North Welsh terrain with gorse, rocky outcrops in the fairways and severe ups and downs — a genuinely memorable test of golf.

The friendly, traditional club offers a warm welcome to visitors, societies and corporate customers, with a clubhouse featuring majestic views, a golf shop for equipment and guidance, and club staff eager to make every visit memorable. Buggies are available (and recommended given the hilly terrain). The course is located on Pen y Bryn on the southern edge of Bangor, with access from the A55 expressway at junctions 11 or 12.
