Golf Course Overview
Balmore Golf Club was founded in 1907 on the grounds of the Glenorchard Estate and was designed by Harry Vardon, a six-time Open Champion. The 18-hole parkland layout sits in rolling East Dunbartonshire countryside between the villages of Torrance and Baldernock and is celebrated for its mature trees, sculpted fairways and recently upgraded USGA-specification greens. The course is known for some of the finest par-3s in Scotland, with the signature 16th drawing particular praise.
The club offers a welcoming clubhouse with bar and dining facilities, plus reciprocal arrangements with several neighbouring clubs. Although only seven miles from Glasgow city centre, the course feels notably tranquil. Access is via Golf Course Road off the A807, near Torrance, with Bishopbriggs the nearest mainline rail station.
