 Golf Course Overview

Founded in 1923, Ballyclare Golf Club has grown over the past century into one of the most respected parkland courses in Northern Ireland. Set in the Antrim Hills around 1.5 miles north of the market town of Ballyclare, the layout measures 6,373 yards and plays to a par of 71 across 18 holes. Mature trees frame the fairways, well-placed bunkers guard the line of play, and natural water comes into the reckoning on several holes thanks to the Islekelly River, which winds through the property and creates hazards between the third and seventh fairways. The signature finishing hole is a long par four where the approach must carry water to find a green that has decided many a club competition.

Facilities at the club include a practice area, putting green, professional shop with coaching available, and the well-regarded Collinview Restaurant and bar within the spacious clubhouse. Visitors are welcome on most days, with advance booking recommended at weekends, and the club regularly hosts open competitions, society days and corporate events. The location is a particular asset for visiting golfers — Belfast is around 20 minutes by car, and both Belfast International and Belfast City airports, along with the major ferry ports, are within easy reach, making Ballyclare an obvious base for a Northern Ireland golfing break.
