Golf Course Overview

Ballumbie Castle Golf Club opened in June 2000 on the outskirts of Dundee. The parkland course measures just over 6,000 yards with a par of 69 and sits on rolling terrain where no two holes are alike, offering sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. The layout places an emphasis on positional play rather than raw distance – driver is not always the right choice, particularly on the demanding opening six holes. Water hazards come into play on four holes, most memorably the par-4 10th with a burn alongside the fairway, sloping bank to the right and a pond to the left. The strong finishing hole, "The Green Lady," demands a drive up the right to avoid out-of-bounds followed by an accurate approach to a multi-tier green.

Facilities include a comfortable clubhouse with a bar and restaurant, a well-stocked pro shop, locker rooms with showers for visitors, and a Toptracer driving range next door at the Ballumbie Castle Golf Centre. The course is open to the public and popular for both casual rounds and group outings. Conveniently located on Old Quarry Road off Ballumbie Road just outside Dundee, Ballumbie Castle sits less than two miles from Carnoustie and is easily reached from the city and A92.
