Golf Course Overview
Ballochmyle Golf Club was founded in 1937 on the former Ballochmyle Estate near Mauchline, land once owned by Sir John Whitefoord and later celebrated by Robert Burns in two of his songs, "Farewell to the Braes o' Ballochmyle" and "The Bonny Lass o' Ballochmyle". The 18-hole parkland course measures around 5,972 yards to a par of 70 and rolls gently through mature woodland in the heart of East Ayrshire. The layout rewards accuracy, as tree-lined fairways punish wayward driving, and includes two short par-fours that offer scoring opportunities for bolder players.
The clubhouse is well regarded for its hospitality, with an extensive lounge bar, restaurant and function room all looking out over the course, alongside spacious changing and locker rooms. The club offers both society and visitor bookings and runs a full programme of competitions throughout the year. Ballochmyle sits just off the Catrine Road on the edge of Mauchline, around 10 to 12 miles inland from the Ayrshire coastal links of Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry.
