Golf Course Overview
Ayr Seafield was laid out alongside its better-known sister course at Belleisle in 1927, with James Braid designing both layouts for South Ayrshire Council within the Belleisle Estate. Seafield is the shorter of the pair, measuring approximately 5,429 yards to a par of 68, and incorporates part of the former public course that preceded Braid's redesign. The layout is an unusual combination of parkland and links-style holes and offers spectacular views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran, providing a playable but varied test for golfers of all abilities.
Seafield shares the modern £1.6 million clubhouse at Belleisle, with its licensed cafe, changing rooms and practice facilities. It is run by Golf South Ayrshire alongside Belleisle, and visitor tee times and season tickets are arranged through the same booking system. The course occupies the coastal edge of the estate off Doonfoot Road and is equally accessible from Ayr town centre and Glasgow Prestwick Airport, making it a popular warm-up or finishing round on Ayrshire golf itineraries.
