Golf Course Overview
Avro Golf Club was founded in 1933 with strong historical ties to the Avro aircraft manufacturing company and today occupies a 9-hole parkland course in Woodford, set between Bramhall and Wilmslow just off Chester Road. Played from double tees, the layout stretches to a total of around 5,686 yards over 18 holes with a par of 69, offering panoramic views across the Cheshire countryside toward the Derbyshire Dales to the east and the Cheshire Plain to the west. The short but quirky layout rewards accurate positional play.
The club is welcoming and inclusive with a choice of membership options and no joining fees, a well-established ladies' section and a beginners' and returners' academy. A pro shop, putting green and clubhouse with bar round out the facilities, and visiting societies and pay-and-play golfers receive a good rate. The course is just a few minutes from junction 6 of the M56 and close to Manchester Airport.
