 Golf Course Overview

Auchenblae Golf Course is a nine-hole parkland layout tucked into the rolling Mearns countryside of southern Aberdeenshire. The course is owned and managed by Auchenblae Parks SCIO and was redesigned by Robin Hiseman in 2002. Played over 18 holes the course measures around 5,029 yards to a par of 67, with a par of 32 over the single nine-hole loop of 3,640 yards. Despite its relatively short length, the layout is a genuine test — small, hard-to-hit greens are its most distinctive feature, and accurate iron play is essential. The setting is idyllic, with views across Drumtochty Glen to the lower Grampians, and the course has inspired comparisons to the Mearns landscapes made famous in Lewis Grassic Gibbon's Sunset Song.

The course is open to members and casual visitors throughout the year, with a starter's office providing golfing essentials and an honesty box system operating during quieter winter periods. There is no full pro shop but a simple pavilion/clubhouse with basic catering is on site. Wednesday evenings in summer are reserved for club competitions. Auchenblae is easily reached from the A90, sitting roughly mid-way between Stonehaven and Laurencekirk, and the course enjoys a loyal following among local golfers and visitors seeking a relaxed, well-priced round.
