Golf Course Overview
The Astbury, formerly known as Astbury Hall, is a modern championship venue set within a 300-acre estate in the rolling hills above Bridgnorth. The 18-hole parkland layout measures around 6,500 yards with a par of 71 and is built to USGA championship standards, with subtle undulations on the putting surfaces and generous but strategically shaped fairways. The signature 18th is a dramatic par 3 played over water to a green sited directly in front of the clubhouse, providing a memorable finish to the round. The course originated as the private golf course of former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing before being reopened as a public resort.
Facilities include a refurbished clubhouse with bar and kitchen, event and wedding venues, on-site lodge accommodation, and a tee booking system for members and visitors. The Astbury hosts society days, corporate golf days and charity events seven days a week, and also runs a calendar of open competitions alongside live music and tribute events at the resort. Visitor tee times are available daily. The resort sits near Chelmarsh, a short drive south of Bridgnorth off the B4555, in easy reach of the West Midlands conurbation.
