Very warm and professional welcome. The course was beautiful and a great challenge with loads of tree-lined fairways. Excellent catering too. A lovely event to enter.

Golf Course Overview

Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Golf Club was founded in 1914, when the original nine holes were laid out to designs credited to five-time Open Champion Sandy Herd. A second nine was added in 1974 to extend the layout to a full eighteen, giving the club its current configuration of a par-71 course measuring around 6,085 yards from the back tees. The course occupies pleasantly undulating ground between the village of Aspley Guise and the town of Woburn Sands, and plays across a blend of mature parkland and heathland. While water is not in play, tree-lined fairways, well-placed greenside bunkers and traditionally quick greens combine to test every element of a golfer's game.

The club has a welcoming clubhouse with changing rooms, a bar and dining area, a pro shop run by the head professional, and practice facilities including a putting green and short-game area. Buggies and clubs are available to hire by prior arrangement, and the club hosts a busy calendar of open competitions for men, ladies, seniors and mixed pairings across the season. Just two miles west of junction 13 of the M1 motorway, the course is easily reached from Milton Keynes, Bedford and Luton, and benefits from quiet countryside surroundings with attractive views over the neighbouring landscape.
