Golf Course Overview
Ashridge Golf Club was founded in 1932 on a magnificent tract of woodland and heathland on the edge of the Chiltern Hills. The original layout was designed by Sir Guy Campbell, Cecil Hutchison and Hotchkin, with later modifications by Tom Simpson in 1939. The 18-hole championship course measures 6,678 yards to a par 72, with three loops of six holes returning to the clubhouse. Classically English parkland in style, the course is famed for its gently curving dog-leg fairways, mature beech trees and cleverly sloping greens. Sir Henry Cotton served as club professional in the 1930s and won The Open at Carnoustie in 1937 while at the club.
The chalet-style clubhouse is renowned for its hospitality and is regularly praised for the quality of its lunches. Facilities include a practice range, putting green, swing studio and well-appointed pro shop, and the course is consistently ranked among England's top 100. Visitors are welcome on weekdays by prior arrangement, and the club hosts significant county and regional events. Ashridge is accessed via the B4506 from Berkhamsted, around five minutes from junction 20 of the M25.

Golf Empire Verdict
Ashridge
"Ashridge is a well-established golf course played through beautifully coloured woodland and rolling terrain."
In the summer of 2014 the fast running nature of the course made it play more like a heathland classic rather than the parkland layout it ultimately is.
