Golf Course Overview
Army Golf Club traces its origins to 1883, making it one of the oldest golf clubs in Hampshire, established after officers of the Aldershot garrison proposed a course on the Camp. The present parkland and woodland layout on around 165 acres between Aldershot and Farnborough was redesigned in the 1960s–70s by Charles Kenneth Cotton and Frank Pennink. The course plays to a par of 71 over approximately 6,631 yards, with three par-3s and two par-5s, mature trees and rhododendrons lining the fairways, and small bridges spanning the ditches that each bear a different British Army regimental cap badge.
The club offers a comfortable clubhouse, well-stocked pro shop and practice facilities, and despite its military heritage has been predominantly civilian in membership for many years. Visitors are welcome on weekdays, with weekend play by arrangement. The club hosts county and regional events and sits just off the A325 on Laffan's Road, a short drive from the M3 at junction 4.
