Golf Course Overview

Aqualate Golf Club opened in 1995 and offers an 18-hole parkland course laid out across gently rolling Shropshire countryside on the eastern edge of Newport. The course measures around 5,659 yards with a Standard Scratch Score of 67, with gentle gradients, mature trees and water hazards combining to create a fair test for golfers of all standards. Greens are noted for their good condition, and the layout makes good use of the natural drainage and contours of the land.

The site doubles as the Aqualate Golf Centre, with a 20-bay floodlit driving range, putting green, short game area and PGA tuition complementing the course. Visitors are welcome every day and societies are catered for. The club is affiliated to the Shropshire & Herefordshire Union of Golf Clubs and is a county card venue. It sits two minutes east of Newport town centre on the A518, just yards from the junction with the A41.
