 Golf Course Overview

The Anglesey Golf Club is the only true links course on the Isle of Anglesey, set amongst rolling sandy dunes at Rhosneigr on the island's west coast. The 18-hole layout dates back to the early 1900s and plays through classic links terrain with fast, firm fairways and the prevailing Irish Sea breezes shaping every round. The course has a notable link to the history of the game — Dr Frank Stableford joined the club in 1920 and served on the committee from 1922 until 1927, working through ideas for his scoring system on these very links before eventually launching it at Wallasey.

The club offers year-round golf with course closures extremely rare, a welcoming clubhouse and catering with member discounts behind the bar, and a busy social and competition calendar. Visitors are welcome and members enjoy access to the County Card scheme which provides discounted green fees at several North Wales courses. The club annually competes for the Dr. Lowe Shield against Baron Hill, Bull Bay, Henllys Hall, Holyhead, and Storws Wen. Located on Station Road next to Rhosneigr railway station, the course is easily reached by train from Holyhead or Bangor and sits just off the A55.

"HIDDEN GEM ALERT!! Oh my word, what a discovery Anglesey Golf Club was on a recent trip to North Wales."

Tagged onto a visit to Bull Bay and Holyhead this venue at Rhosneigr was very much expected to be the poor relation, a course to make up the numbers. All I can say is; what a find!
