Golf Course Overview
Alva Golf Club was established in 1901 and sits at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire. The nine-hole parkland course measures around 4,846 yards over 18 tees with a par of 66, and although it is not long it presents an unusual and rewarding challenge thanks to its dramatic undulations and the Alva Burn which weaves through the layout. The shortest par-3 plays at only around 90 yards while none of the holes reach 400 yards, so precision and a deft short game count for more than length. Glorious views of the surrounding hills and across to the Wallace Monument in Stirling add to the experience.
Facilities include a clubhouse with dining and changing rooms, a putting green and a chipping practice area. Visitors are welcome and the relaxed, traditional atmosphere has earned the club a loyal following. The course hosts a regular calendar of club competitions and open events. Alva sits just east of Stirling, with the course tucked behind the village off Beauclerc Street and easily reached from the A91.
