Golf Course Overview
Allerthorpe Park Golf Club is a parkland course set within the 110-acre Allerthorpe Golf & Country Park, on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. The original 18-hole layout was designed by J G Hatcliffe & Partners and opened in 1994 on former farmland, developed by the Atkinson family. The course today is operated as a 9-hole layout played over two circuits to give an 18-hole round of par 68 and around 5,768 yards. A meandering water feature known as Stone Beck crosses several holes, and the memorable closing hole plays over a lake to the green, giving a distinctive finish to the round.
Facilities at the park include a clubhouse with modern changing rooms, JJ's Bar & Grill restaurant, a pro shop, a seven-day driving range and a putting and chipping practice area. Trolley and buggy hire are available and visitors are welcome seven days a week. The complex also offers 5-star lodge accommodation, making it a popular destination for golf breaks. Allerthorpe is roughly a five-minute drive from Pocklington, around ten miles east of York, and is easily reached from the A1079 York–Hull road.
