Golf Course Overview
Allendale Golf Club was founded in 1906 and sits high on the North Pennine moors roughly two miles south of Allendale Town. The nine-hole layout extends to approximately 4,711 yards with a par of 67 when played over the full double-tee round, crossing hilly upland terrain that tests club selection and stamina in equal measure. Alternate tees on the second circuit alter the character of several holes, and the elevated ground delivers sweeping views across the surrounding fells, making it one of the most distinctive rural courses in Northumberland.
The club welcomes visitors and is open to the public, with online booking through the BRS system alongside pay-on-the-day options. Facilities include a clubhouse serving refreshments, and the course is reached via the B6295 between Allendale and Allenheads, clearly signposted from the road. Its upland setting makes it a popular destination for golfers seeking a different challenge from the coastal layouts further east, and it has built a reputation for strong drainage and year-round playability.
