Golf Course Overview
Alexandra Golf Club at Alexandra Park in Glasgow's East End was one of Scotland's oldest municipal courses, with golf played on the site since 1872; latterly it was a hilly nine-hole parkland course of around 4,000 yards (par 60) with some notable long par 3s and views over the city. Glasgow City Council closed the council-run course in 2020 citing financial losses and low participation, and the ground has since reverted to general parkland within Alexandra Park, used for walking, informal recreation and occasional orienteering events.
