Golf Course Overview

Aldwark Manor Estate Golf Club is set in 200 acres of mature parkland in the Vale of York, surrounding a Victorian manor house commissioned in 1865 by Lord Walsingham. The eighteen-hole parkland course was originally laid out in 1978 and extends to around 5,922 yards to a par of 70 (slope 119), with the River Ure crossing the property and coming into play on several holes. The estate underwent a substantial course renovation in 2023–24 that improved drainage, refurbished tees and rebuilt several greens, with the resulting layout combining tree-lined fairways, water hazards and views across the surrounding North Yorkshire countryside.

Course facilities include a practice ground, putting green, pro shop, golf tuition and buggy hire, while the wider estate operates as a four-star country-house hotel and spa with bar, restaurant and event suites available for weddings, conferences and society days. Aldwark sits roughly halfway between York and Thirsk, around twelve miles north of York city centre and within easy reach of the A1(M) at Boroughbridge, with visitor green fees and stay-and-play packages bookable directly through the hotel.
