Golf Course Overview
Alderley Edge Golf Club dates back to 1907, when a group of local golfers led by Frank Dewse founded the original Fulshaw Golf Club on land previously used by the Wilmslow Golf Club at Butterfly Bank. The club took its current name in 1923. Significant design changes were made in 1912 by Tommy Renouf, then professional at Manchester Golf Club, after additional land was leased. The course is a nine-hole downland-style layout of around 2,905 yards (par 34 for a single circuit, par 68 over 18 tees), with many holes having two sets of tees to provide variety for an 18-hole round over undulating meadowland terrain.
The clubhouse, rebuilt in 1977 and extended again in 2000, includes a Spike Bar and the Edge View Suite available for hire for functions, celebrations and meetings. Visitors are welcomed by prior arrangement and the club runs a full calendar of competitions for men, ladies, mixed pairs, seniors and juniors. Set on Brook Lane between Wilmslow and Alderley Edge village, the course is around 17 miles south of Manchester and easily reached from the A34 and M56.
