Golf Course Overview
Airdrie Golf Club, founded in 1877, is one of the oldest clubs in the West of Scotland. The wooded parkland course, redesigned by James Braid in 1939, plays to a par of 69 over approximately 6,004 yards. Tight tree-lined fairways, blind tee shots and out-of-bounds threats make the course a stern test despite its modest length, and the closing trio from the 16th to the 18th is regarded as one of the toughest finishes in the central belt. The greens have been re-laid to USGA specification, and on a clear day the higher parts of the course offer views as far as the Isle of Arran.
The club has a comfortable clubhouse with panoramic views over the opening and closing holes, a pro shop run by Head Professional Simon McLean offering coaching and custom fitting, and the Rochsoles Suite for functions. Visitors are welcomed every day and society bookings are accepted. The course sits north of Airdrie on the Glenmavis road, easily reached from the M8.
