Golf Course Overview
Aigas Golf Course was established in 1993 by Peter and Jessie Masheter, who diversified former farmland at Mains of Aigas into a 9-hole parkland course nestled between the Aigas community forest and the River Beauly. The layout was designed by professional Bill Mitchell of Grantown-on-Spey, who chose the gently undulating valley floor over the surrounding steep terrain. Playing to a par of 33 over the 9 holes (par 66 over 18, around 4,878 yards), the course is known for its large greens, wide fairways, and a memorable sixth tee perched above the Beauly gorge.
Aigas Golf Club, formed in 1994, runs competitions and social events from a recently renovated open-plan clubhouse with a log-burning stove. Visitors are welcome with no booking generally required outside busy weekends, and clubs, trolleys and a buggy are available for hire. Aigas is around five miles south-west of Beauly and 15 miles west of Inverness, with four self-catering holiday cottages on the property offering discounted golf for guests.
