Golf Course Overview
Addington Court Golf Centre on Featherbed Lane, Croydon, was originally designed by Frederick G Hawtree in 1932 and was the first ever privately run public golf course in the United Kingdom. For 50 years it served as the headquarters of the Hawtree family golf-course design practice. Today, under the ownership of Crown Golf, the centre offers two 18-hole layouts plus a 9-hole academy: the tree-lined Championship course rewards accurate driving, while the more open Falconwood course features smaller greens that demand sharp approach play.
The complex is one of the most comprehensive public golf facilities in the south of England, with a 32-bay covered floodlit driving range across two levels, putting and short-game practice areas, a fully stocked pro shop and clubhouse with food and drink. Buggies, trolleys and clubs are available for hire, and tuition is offered through the on-site PGA team. Located close to junction 6 of the M25 via the A22 and A2022, Addington Court is a busy and welcoming pay-and-play venue serving south London and the Surrey suburbs.
