Roy Yates Reviewed Dec 2025

Not just the course, the whole club is outstanding value for money, course is always in good condition whatever your level, may be considered short by modern standards but beware, length isn't the primary defence, some holes can catch you out, the Professional, staff and members are very friendly and Accrington serves the best bacon barm around 😋 always look forward to visiting and can honestly say never been disappointed

Golf Course Overview

Accrington & District Golf Club is a warm and welcoming private members' club set on a tree-lined parkland course above the town of Oswaldtwistle. Designed by the legendary James Braid and opened in 1893, the course measures 6,031 yards from the white tees at a par of 70, providing a fair and challenging test for golfers of all abilities. Despite its modest length, the undulating terrain and well-protected greens demand precision throughout, and the course is widely regarded as one of the best kept in the area.

The club takes pride in its friendly atmosphere, with members and guests enjoying social events alongside competitive golf. A pro shop, halfway house, and comfortable clubhouse complete the facilities, making a round at Accrington a thoroughly enjoyable day out in the Lancashire hills.
