Golf Course Overview
Aberystwyth Golf Club was founded in 1911 and the original layout was designed by six-time Open Champion Harry Vardon. The 18-hole undulating downland and parkland course measures 6,126 yards from the white tees with a par of 70, and sits on high ground above the university town with sweeping views over Cardigan Bay, the Snowdonia mountains and the Preseli Hills. The 13th, a demanding par-3 played over a deep ravine to a bunkered green, is one of the most-talked-about holes, and the closing stretch makes the most of the elevated coastal terrain.
Facilities include a clubhouse with bar and dining, pro shop, driving range with grass and mat bays, putting and chipping greens, a practice bunker and buggy hire. Visitors and societies are welcomed throughout the year and the club hosts a programme of open and county events. The club has been listed by Golf Monthly among the best holiday courses in the UK and was featured in National Club Golfer's top Welsh courses for 2024. The course is reached via Brynymor Road off the A487 north of Aberystwyth town centre.
