 Golf Course Overview

Abersoch Golf Club was designed by six-time Open champion Harry Vardon and opened in 1908, making it one of the most historic courses on the Llŷn Peninsula. Situated on the Cambrian Coast in Snowdonia, the 18-hole layout offers an unusual and appealing blend of traditional links and parkland golf. The signature hole is the 246-yard par-3 3rd, played from an elevated tee with panoramic sea views, demanding an accurate shot downhill over gorse and a water hazard to a sloping green with a rear bunker. A run of links holes along the coastline winds through huge natural sand dunes contoured over a century ago, where wayward drives are heavily punished. The course plays to around 5,847 yards from the white tees.

Winner of Welsh Golf Course of the Year 2018 by Your Golfer Magazine, the club has also been ranked among the best courses in Wales by Golf World. Facilities include a fully stocked pro shop, a pro golf simulator, lessons with the PGA professional, a welcoming clubhouse with bar, patio and catering, and the course is playable 365 days a year thanks to Abersoch's mild microclimate. The club is located at the southern end of Abersoch village, adjacent to the beach, with the vibrant nightlife and restaurants of the resort within easy walking distance.

Abersoch

★★★ ★ ★
3.7/5

"Abersoch Golf Club, or Clwb Golff Abersoch, is a links-parkland hybrid on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales."

The first 12 holes can be classed as pure links whilst the final six holes are positively parkland and were added a few decades ago. The course was originally laid out as nine holes back in 1908 by Harry Vardon.
