 Golf Course Overview

Abbotsley Golf Club in Cambridgeshire was a popular pay-and-play parkland facility near St Neots, owned by former Women's British Open champion Vivien Saunders OBE, comprising the main 18-hole Abbotsley course, an 18-hole Cromwell course, a par-3 course, and a 43-bedroom hotel. The course was forced to close in 2017 after a vandalism attack in which banned weed-killer was applied to 14 of the greens, and subsequent remediation work by contractors was botched, rendering the course unplayable. The site has since fallen into disuse, with planning permission approved in 2024 for conversion of the former clubhouse and hotel buildings into residential housing.

Closed 2017.
