Golf Course Overview

The Abbey Hotel, Golf & Spa is a four-star resort set on a 175-acre estate near Redditch that once belonged to the now-ruined local abbey. The 18-hole championship parkland course was originally designed by Donald Steel and opened in the late 1970s. The course is currently being remodelled, with the new par-70 layout (around 6,000 yards from the yellow tees) due to reopen on 1 May 2026; it will feature two new signature par-3 holes, six new tees, water in play on six holes and a state-of-the-art irrigation system. While works continue, a temporary nine-hole layout is in play with alternate tee positions on seven holes for a full eighteen-hole round.

The hotel offers 100 contemporary bedrooms — including rooftop Penthouse Suites with panoramic views — two restaurants in The Brasserie and The Terrace Bar, an indoor pool, spa with Dermalogica treatments, gymnasium and nine purpose-built conference rooms accommodating up to 200 delegates. The recently upgraded Inrange-powered driving range features 26 floodlit bays across two storeys with radar-tracking practice technology. The resort sits about three miles from junction 2 of the M42 and 30 minutes south of Birmingham city centre.
