Wirral Golf Classic

Wallasey, Cadly & Heswall Golf Clubs

Sunday 20th to Tuesday 22nd September 2020

The 11th Wirral Golf Classic, a 54 hole Stableford competition for men and women amateur golfers, will be held on 20 - 22nd September 2020 on three beautiful golf courses in Wirral, in the North West of England - Caldy, Heswall and Wallasey.

All entrants will enjoy the beautiful locations of these fine courses on the coast of this peninsula, overlooking the Rivers Mersey and Dee.

For the first time this year the 3 day event will be packaged with 2 nights accommodation at selected hotels & B&B's to make it attractively packaged from £285/person.

Located between Liverpool and Chester, Wirral is a golfers' paradise.

We are proud to add that the event enjoyed a 100% satisfaction rate in our post event surveys - so join in this year!

The Courses:

Wallasey is a great links, with beautiful views across the River Mersey to Liverpool, has been an Open Qualifying venue for many years. It is the home of the Stableford, created by one of their past Captains.

Caldy has fine views from its cliffs across the River Dee to Wales and is a former venue of the Seniors' Championship and the 2016 British Women's Seniors Championship. It too will enjoy Open Qualifier status when the Championship next returns to the region.

A few miles down the coast, Heswall, chosen by The R&A as their venue for the Junior Open Championship in 2006, like Caldy enjoys spectacular views across the Dee to Wales.

Format

All competitors will play each of the three courses during the period 20 - 22nd September.

The main competition is an aggregate Stableford with prizes for the top 20 players over three rounds but there will also be daily competitions. Players must be 18 years and older, with a maximum handicap of 24 for men and 36 for ladies, while the maximum number of strokes given is 18 for men and 27 for ladies, per round. There are prizes for men and women.

All golfers must be members of a recognised golf club, or affiliated to their country’s governing body, and must present a current and active handicap certificate from their club on arrival (in accordance with CONGU Handicapping System on arrival).

The Classic's organising team make every effort to make sure all golfers have a great week and we are very pleased to have scored 100% satisfaction rate in the post event surveys. Golfers who enter with a friend or partner can choose to play together on some, or on all, of the 3 days, as preferred. If not playing together, players will be given start times as close together as possible, on the same course. For larger groups the limit is again 2 friends in each four ball but the group will be given, where possible, consecutive start times.
