County Durham Golf Trail

South Moor, Beamish Park, Blackwell Grange & Brancepeth Castle Golf Clubs

Monday 11th to Thursday 14th July 2022

The County Durham Golf Trail commenced in late 2017 and events were successfully held in 2018 and 2019 and again in July 2021.

The 2022 event - open to men and ladies in any combination - has now been finalised and entries are open!

The trail tournament week in 2022 will commence at South Moor Golf Club on Monday July 11th and close at Brancepeth Castle on Thursday July 14th with stops at Beamish Park and Blackwell Grange in between.

The event is open to pairs of any combination, Gents, Ladies or Mixed with daily prizes in each category as well as a final order of merit trophy and is brought to you with the support of ‘VisitcountyDurham’.

Together we hope to provide you with an unforgettable trip and for you to enjoy some great golf as well as everything the region has to offer. We have enlisted the support of several hotels who provide excellent accommodation and preferential rates for participating golfers.

So why not come and join the County Durham Golf Trail in 2022!

From the North of the region there’s the Dr Alister MacKenzie designed moorland classic at South Moor, a former venue of the McGregor trophy which winds it’s way through heather and gorse.

Next stop Beamish Park golf club, a beautiful Henry Cotton design that sits peacefully in the Beamish valley.

Blackwell Grange is the host on day 3 – Blackwell Grange was always a good layout but has had huge improvements made after consultation with course designer Jonathan Gaunt and the results are very impressive and for those yet to play this course, we’re sure it won’t disappoint.

Then, our final days play will take place at the Harry Colt’s masterpiece at Brancepeth Castle, a worthy fixture in the UK’s top 100 courses with it’s dramatic and memorable par 3s and only a ten minute drive from the centre of Durham City.

The 4 CDGT clubs also operate a 'passport' whereby groups of up to 8 players can arrange to play each venue on 4 consecutive midweek days. Please contact Bill Ward on 0191 3701382. The cost for this is £80 per player.

Entry is just £100 per person (£200 per pair).
