Doherty and Massey in title battle

IT’S a two-horse race to the finishing line in the Galvin Green Northern Order of Merit with Bury’s Ciaran Doherty, who won the title three years ago, five points ahead of Northenden’s Cameron Massey.

Former Lancashire champion Ian Kenwright won the penultimate fixture, the Bolton Old Links Trophy, with rounds of 73 and 68 leaving him two clear of the host club’s Aaron Harper.
