Europe's largest amateur golf tournament, The Matchplay Championship, has just got even better. Played in the Matchplay format, all tournaments give golfers from across the UK and Eire the opportunity to win through to a Grand Final at The Els Club, Dubai.
Main Details
The Matchplay Championship event itself will be staged on the fairways of the world famous Els Club, Dubai – the first golf course in the Middle East designed by Ernie Els, winner of a record seven World Matchplay titles. There is a betterball (CONGU & non-CONGU) and singles event for men plus a mixed pairs competition.
The 36 Grand Finalists will enjoy a week’s accommodation at the luxurious Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel – the exotic jewel of the United Arab Emirates and the competition will be played over three days at The Els Club.
As with previous events the Sky Sports cameras will be joining the Grand Finalists in Dubai to film all the action as well as both UK Regional Finals.
The incredible 'prize' provides a once in a lifetime opportunity for amateur golfers to experience a truly world class venue in competition conditions under the spotlight of the Sky Sports cameras!
The Grand Final itinerary is simply wonderful. It includes:
