The Golf Empire Story

Golf Empire began life back in 1998 for the simple reason of making it easier for golfers to find out where and when open golf competitions will be played.

Originating as a college project the website was fuelled out of the frustration of not easily being able to find entry-forms for open competitions by the site creator. The website started by simply listing a handful of open tournaments at a few golf courses near a small town in West Yorkshire, however, it has quickly developed into one of the most used and useful resources for UK amateur golfers. 

Listing thousands of open tournaments Golf Empire puts golfers, who are searching for competitions to enter, in touch with golf clubs who are actively looking to promote their own events. 

With the introduction of the internet the way in which golfers search for open events to play in has changed. Gone are the days when a golf club could simply provide a folder in the clubhouse with posters of competitions at nearby courses or rely on golfers finding out about their events through other dated means. Golfers now demand more when it comes to entering open golf competitions and Golf Empire goes someway to providing this.

One of the main reasons for the success and popularity of the site is due to the fact that Golf Empire do not charge golf clubs to list their events in what is the largest and fastest growing online directory of open tournaments in the UK. This is obviously beneficial for golf clubs but even better news for golfers because it means that more clubs list their events resulting in a wider choice of competitions for the golfer... a real win-win!

Golfers can search for events by their region or by the type of event they wish to play in, then simply print out the entry-form provided and post it directly to the golf club secretary or open competition organiser. Covering 39 counties throughout England as well as Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland Golf Empire provides golfers nationwide with access to entry-forms for open events in their area and beyond.
